The link below is for our May BOG Meeting and chapter teleconference information. Please try your best to attend this meeting, as we will be voting for new officer positions for the upcoming year. We will have our BOG meeting from 11:30am-11:55am. Around noon, we will be giving our chapter updates (how we typically do for normal in person meetings) as well as vote for officer positions for July 1 2020 thru June 30, 2021. Then Steve Van Duser will present the topic “An Introduction to the Effects of Harmonics in VFD Applications”.

Following that, Steve Van Duser from Eaton Corporation will give a virtual presentation on “An Introduction to the Effects of Harmonics in VFD Applications”.
Presentation Summary:
IEEE 519 Harmonic Contribution from VFDs will be covered in a simple layman’s approach. Discuss some of the misunderstandings about harmonics in general and provide good rule of thumb techniques to mitigate harmonics during system design for both green field and retrofit applications. This discussion will focus on package solutions that VFD manufacturer’s can easily provide vs. standalone harmonic filtering systems provided by non-VFD manufacturers.
Speaker Bio:
Steve Van Duser is an applications engineer for Eaton Corporation. Steve has 28 years of experience in the industry of electrical power distribution and power quality analysis.
He is currently located in Greenville, South Carolina serving the entire state of South Carolina including Savannah and Augusta, Georgia. Steve enjoys playing guitar, refinishing guitars, and spoiling his two granddaughters in Madison, Wisconsin.
