This Month’s Technical ProgramA Case for Steam: Steam vs. Hot Water

The presentation will start with the basics of Saturated Steam and the application of steam heating systems. Misconceptions of steam as a heat source will be presented, as well as a discussion on the efficiency of a condensing hot water boiler. Comparison of a steam and hot water distribution system will be offered with real-life examples to demonstrate the pros and cons of using steam.

Reece Barefoot

Reece Barefoot has been with Spirax Sarco since 1998 when he was hired as an Account Executive for the Charlotte, NC branch office. In 2005, Reece moved to Richmond, VA to become the Virginia Area Manager. Reece and his team won the President’s cup in 2010 for the overall outstanding branch office in the United States. On June 1, 2014, Reece Barefoot was promoted to the Southeast Regional Manager position.  Reece lives in Midlothian, VA with his wife Renee, and their daughter Sydney (17).  His son Zach (21) is currently attending Virginia Tech majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Graduated from N.C. State University (1991) – B. S. Textile Engineering

Worked at Sara Lee Corporation (1992 – 1998) in Technical Services

Currently working on his MBA at Longwood University
